Luxor TV - is it worth it?

Buying Luxor TV, 50 inch Full HD and 4K LED TVs - price, features, specifications and customer product review of sample Luxor TV

So, who has ever heard of the Luxor brand? Well, I think not too many consumers, not to mention Luxor TV

Luxor is a brand that produces a range of televisions. Based on my knowledge cut off in 2021, Luxor is not a well-known brand in the TV market and it is not as popular as other brands, so there is limited information available about their products.
However, Luxor TVs are generally considered to be budget-friendly options that offer basic features at a relatively low price.

Today I will make you more familiar with this innovative brand and more specifically with one of their latest 4k LED TV sets. Overall, the TV gives moderately good picture, although the sound quality leaves a lot to be desired.

The price is at around $600 or less so if you are looking to save a buck and get a decent TV, you may look into Luxor.

We haven't done many Luxor TV reviews so far but the reason for that is that as a brand they haven't released any new products recently.
Some things to consider when purchasing a Luxor TV:
  • Picture quality: Luxor TVs may not have the same level of picture quality as more expensive brands, so you may want to compare the specs and read customer reviews before making a purchase.
  • Smart TV features: Luxor TVs may not have the same level of smart TV capabilities as more expensive brands.
  • Durability: Luxor TVs may not be as durable as more expensive brands, so you may want to consider how long you plan on keeping the TV before making a purchase.
  • Customer service: Luxor may not have as good customer service as other brands, so it is worth considering if you have any issues with your TV.

Who makes Luxor TV?

Well, that is a very tricky question. After doing a quick research online we couldn't confirm if the Luxor TV brand is part of a bigger consortium like those in Vestel Group lets say.

In case you have any firm information about who actually makes Luxor televisions, we would appreciate your comment.

Top 5 TVs to recommend in 2019

Specifications
The LED edge lighting provides fairly good color, brightness and image clarity. The TV features a thin gloss black design that you can mount on a wall or sit on the provided plinth.

You also get built-in WiFi to link into your home broadband to access on demand movies with Netflix, catch up TV with BBC iPlayer and on-tap internet access through the web browser. You can also use Twitter and Facebook and share your videos through YouTube.

In today’s review, we would like to bring to your attention another budget solution for home television. Luxor offer a 50-inch screen Full HD 1920x1080 resolution and a 4K option as well. The full HD option features a built-in Freeview HD tuner so you can enjoy 12 HD channels without needing a monthly subscription package, including BBC HD, ITV HD, CBeebies HD and C4 HD.

Honestly, I am quite eager to see what the Luxor brand will offer in the near future, not only on the LED TV market but in general. Recently I saw another of their TVs grow popularity - the 40 inch Full HD Smart TV Luxor LUX0140004/01

Hopefully there's more to come from them in the near future.

For this review we used a sample 50-inch Luxor television but it is already 2019 and the information could be outdated. Please check the rest of our TV reviews for more detailed information.

Hi, June. I think in regards to reliability - Luxor TVs are OK. I didn't quite get it, are you thinking of buying 28 or 48 inch smart TV?

Luxor brand is owned by turkish manufacturer Vestel. The same type of TV can you find on german market under brand Telefunken, in finnish market under Finlux and in some countries under brand Hitachi. They are not bad for the price, maybe better than chinese ones.

Thanks Pjotr, that is true, it is basically the same hardware. And yes they make pretty good consumer electronics for the price. I am not quite sure about Luxor though, are they part of a bigger consortium or just a small brand?

That sounds like a very bad customer experience. Could you please let us know which Luxor TV model was that? Good luck with the repair/replacement!

Got bought a 50 inch for Christmas, against my advice. Have to keep reseting it when we switch on and the sound is awful. I have hearing aids and turn it up full so I can hear it. As soon as I am going to get another one.

Sorry for your bad experience. To be honest I bought a cheap 40-inch TV last year and sold it few months after. Paid double for a premium brand and it was well worth the extra money, especially for item that will be in use for years.
I know it could be difficult for some to spend the extra money but I would never advice to cheap on a TV these days.
