Acer Iconia Tab A1-810 review - this is one of the latest and probably the cheapest quad-core Android tablets from Acer's model range. Its key selling points are the low price tag, nice 7.9-inch IPS display and fast quad-core processor.

Main specifications
I was really surprised when I read the full specifications of this cheap Android tablet. I did't expect to see keywords like 'IPS', 'quad-core' in such an affordable device form premium brands. Of course I have seen tablets with similar specs but from quite unknown brands (like the Freelander PD800 RK3188 and Sanei N10). It seems like technologies that yesterday we considered cutting edge are now getting popular in low-end devices like the Iconia Tab A1-810.

So what's under the hood of the Acer Iconia Tab A1-810. Well probably the most significant part is taken by the 1.2GHz MediaTek MT8125 quad-core processor coupled with the PowerVR SGX544 integrated graphics accelerator.

This tablet comes with 1 GB of RAM with 8, 16 or 32 GB of storage space and also accepts microSD cards with volume of up to 32 GB.

The 7.9-inch LED IPS display  doesn't offer HD resolution with just 1024x768 maximum resolution and 16 million colors. I say 'just' but for this size it is really not that bad and you can playback HD content on external source thanks to the PowerVR SGX544 accelerator. It is also capacitive display which supports multi-touch.

As for the connectivity options the Acer Iconia Tab A1-810 is pretty well equipped. Here you can find fast 802.11b/g/n WiFi adapter, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB v2.0, miniHDMI and 3.5mm headphone jack.

One nice additional multimedia feature in this tablet is the good performing 5.0 MP rear autofocus camera and 0.3 MP front-facing camera.

Battery
Acer Iconia Tab A1-810 has 4960 mAh Li-Ion which is good for up to 10 hours of work and over 300 hours on stand-by mode. In real world testing this battery will hold charge for around 5-6 hours before it needs recharging.

Operating system
Here is another of the good points in the Acer Iconia Tab A1-810 - this tablet comes with one of the latest (and most capable) versions of Android OS, the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. I am using this OS every day and I can tell it really works great on tablets and smartphones, especially with those equipped with good hardware, the Jelly Bean just manages to squeeze the most performance from it.

Dimensions
Acer Iconia Tab A1-810 measures 208.7 x 145.7 x 11.1 mm and weighs 410 grams.

Price
As I already mentioned price is one of the key selling points for the Acer Iconia Tab A1-810 tablet. You can find it in stores for less than $250 brand new (for the 8GB version) which sounds just incredible considering the good specs of this cheap Acer tablet.

As a conclusion I would say the Acer Iconia Tab A1-810 is a tablet that is really worth the money and you can't really go wrong with low price and high performance.
